Can I register as a God?
Sorry! ‘Gods’ as we use them are admins. Wait, that sounds elitist >.< Long story short, it just seemed like a more fitting title than ‘administrator’, and I wanted to use Kyprioth as my username anyway. As Corus grows, admins may or may not throw in the occasional post to an unsuspecting character or two

I registered with the wrong name! What do I do?
Just PM this account (making sure to include the name you'd like it changed to), and I'll sort it out for you. The only way to change account names is via the ACP (no, you can't do it yourself XP), and simply re-registering makes me cranky.


Hey! Why don’t you have a Court of the Rogue/Kennels yet?
The nature of Corus is that it will likely have many, MANY forums, and chances are you’ll always have some that aren’t yet needed. Others that aren’t needed – such as the Court of the Rogue and Kennels in various districts – will be added when they are. Once we have rogues, they will have a court, and once a district has a Dog, they will have a Kennel.


My character has relatives that I’d really like to see played. Is this possible?

What sorts of ethnicities are there, and how do they compare with our own?
While many countries in the Tortallan universe are primarily Caucasian, there are also some countries - and even just groups - that are not. Carthakis are typically black, and Carthak itself can be equated with Africa. The Yamani Islands are modeled somewhat after Japan, just as Scanra is after various Scandinavian countries and the Bazhir are similar, in appearance at least, to Arabs.

Do I have to play a canon/Do you have a preference between canons and originals?
Canon's are 100% optional, and whether you opt for one or for an original, I have no preference. If you do opt to use a forum creation, rather than your own original one, however, I ask that you first look over any bolded characters or canons requested by members to see if any of them strike your fancy before looking over the others available.


What sorts of images can I use for my character?
Anything. Provided it’s humanoid in appearance and resembles your character, you’re good to go. It can be a photograph, cartoon, anime or manga character, anything, provided it suits your character and isn’t already in use.


There's a certain person I want to reply to my post. How do I make sure that no one else does?
Typically, that's what the topic description (text input under the topic title) is for. If you don't want anyone to reply to your thread (as is sometimes the case), simply label it as Closed. If there are specific people you want to reply (making sure they're willing to do so, of course), simply list their name(s). This is generally called the Tag System, as some people will put tag: before the list list of those for whom the thread is intended.


Is this based on anything?
It is, in fact! Tortall is actually a fictional country created by Tamora Pierce, whose books you really ought to read. Now. That being said, reading the books is by no means a requirement for joining us. While it helps, the vast majority of questions can be answered simply be reading provided documentation, and our members are more than willing to answer additional questions you might have.
