GRAPHS These graphs are managed by Mary, and may or may not actually be up-to-date.Male to FemaleAge GroupsCharacters with Magical AbilitiesPieGraph of Characters with Magical AbilitiesLesser Nobility and CommonersPieGraph of Lesser Nobility and CommonersRogues and OthersPieGraph of Rogues and OthersNobilityPieGraph of NobilityRoyalty of all nationsPiegraph of Royalty of all nationsCLOSING COMMENTS Once again, male-female ratio is awesome. There are some unbalances in the Tortallan nobilty (more males than females), however, due to character restrictions and overall unbalance of character classes I do not recommend creating more Tortalla ladies. The bachelors have survived so far and will continue to do so.
MORE OLDER PEOPLE. It's fine to have characters who are over 30. Really, truly, it is. And it's just as fun to scheme with people who might have a few grey hairs as it is with the youngins with lots of energy. Older people don't run around killing each other--they do it less energetically, sure, but with just as much cruelty and gruesomeness. Oh and more tea. Don't forget the tea.
Since the implimentation of the restrictions, the number of commoners has really shot up (as in, doubled). This has been done relatively evenly for both males and females, which is good. We've now got a good number of Dogs, however I don't recommend many-- if any-- more. Palace staff and merchant numbers are excellent, although I advise more male merchants. The poor, lone male merchant has been swamped by females. 4:1 ratio is really not fair !
A word of caution should be noted for the following areas:I don't know why I continue to bother mentioning NOBLES. Fortunately more canon nobles have been made, nobles which are needed, and not just your everyday Jo Blogs. This is great to see. It is also notable that more foreigners have been created. Keep it up folks!
MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC. Need I say more. While a little less than a third of characters possess some form of magic, this is still highly innacurate. Once again I advise plots and schemes that are not dependent on characters having magical abilities--realistically, most characters would not have these gifts.
Younger people. Our age statistics would be demographically accurate for a country like Iraq or Bangladesh where, really and truly, their mean age is in the 20's (or something quite ridiculously young). But this is Tortall, where, especially among nobles, healthcare is actually quite reasonable. It is not uncommon to find people over the age of 30, 40, even 50. And yes, 60 or older. They are extremely complex characters which can be used and abused with plots and storyline twists and all those lovely RPing things we all get up to. So more older people!
Things to feel good aboutMore commoners have been made. They are now a formidable force which is roughly twice as great as that of the Rogue. This is a wonderful improvement. More commoners everyone!
Overall, an improvement to the last time I got around to doing this. Pats on the back everyone!
