Full Version: Major f'up

Okay, I'm like... really... really... really peeved.

(and I'm posting here to vent, not that I'm going away)

Okay, so I have an 8 AM shift to midday at the deli. Another girl takes 12-4:30, and then another girl from 4:30 to close.

The girl who does 12-4:30 (and does 2 hours on the register after that) decided today she'd resign

And of course only told everyone an hour before her deli shift started

So I'm at the library (across the road from the store with the deli) posting this and fuming that because this girl was too lame to not give any more than an hours notice I have to stay until 4 or 4:30. I don't have too much of a problem with that as I get paid, but it's darn annoying when I told people (like Kayte) I'd be free... and now I'm not.

SO ANYONE EVEN THINKING OF NOT GIVING MORE THAN A DAYS NOTICE WHEN RESIGNING... DON'T. You might have a good reason but the poor people who have to take your shift DO suffer for it.
Not many people at work are very happy.... Only me, really, 'cause apparently I have a tonne of patience. (which just went out the window.... God help any customer who gives me a hard time, 'cause I'm gunna throw them out *after chopping them into tiny little pieces*)

Okay, rant over

Sorry Kayte, can't be on like I said. PM me the stuff or whatever, or I'll see you tomorrow (hopefully)

Sigh

-huggles- Poor Mary. It's okay. Fuming can be very healthy.

Wow o_o And this is why the world needs to be rid of the stupid people...

Well, at least I feel less shitty for my MSN committing suicide when I was all, "BE ONLINE, DAMNIT" (only less angry and in lowercase).

And that really sucks; I always thought it was the norm for employers to be MEGA flexible with your scheduling as mine are, but apparently not? At the very least, you can gloat if and when your employer gives her a shitty review, should she be stupid enough to put the deli on her resume.

People don't like flaky staff, no sir.

Thanks everyone <3 Feel much better now ^^;;

I got to eat a roast lamb for lunch so I'm happy again tongue.gif

There's only one person in the deli at any one time, which makes it hard if anyone doesn't show up wink.gif

And I have a hunch that I'll be asked in a few more shifts a week. Sounds like some more of the girls are going to resign (gits; they haven't even given the new managers a chance. It takes more than 10 days to adjust to such a big jump, not to mention developing a "worker-manager" relationship like everyone had with the old managers who'd run the place since it'd opened. GRR) AND they don't really seem to be interested in being ethical and giving proper notice that they're leaving. Unless they're being harrassed, it's not excuse. Even a few days is polite.

And yes, Kayte. I sincerely hope they don't put deli work on their resume, or that any other employers will call up my bosses. I can just imagine the convo... "Hello. Is this person okay?" "Yes, she's a good worker." "Anything else?" "Just hope she doesn't decide to resign, because you'll get no notice."

Oh lovey. <3

I feel your pain. Well, not really your pain, but some pain. Scalp related pain, to be exact.

If you ever see her again tell her how pissed off she made you. Maybe it'll make her think twice next time.

Here unless you've been working for less than three months, it's two weeks notice, one week for the aforementioned terms. If you don't give that notice, I don't know what happens, but I've never seen it happen. Only thing I've seen is people will give a month's notice but take off after two weeks claiming whatever. Still... Sometimes I honestly wonder about people.

SEE?! There's even LAWS about that kinda stuff.

Thanks for your support everyone. I must remember, next time I see any of those girls, to remind them of their obligation to the law and their fellow employees.... ^^;;

Unfortunately I can't slap any of them because that'd be harrassment... but yeah. I'll get their MSN's and do it over that. LOL
